FOSTER CARE PROGRAM

Education & Age-Out

FOSTER CARE EDUCATION PROGRAM

There are appproximately 10,000 kids in foster care just in Arizona. With only about 4,000 licensed foster parents, that leaves many of these kids living in local group homes. This is where 10-15 kids live together with group home staff members who look after them until they are 1) reunited with their families or 2) age out at the age of 18.

Our educational workshops are focused on teaching them how to break negative and unhealthy cycles and set them up for healthy futures.

These workshops include other community partners (such as Southern Arizona Against Slavery, etc) and cover topics such as homelessness prevention, substance abuse prevention, healthy relationships, and more!

FOSTER CARE AGE OUT PROGRAM

Arizona is in a state of crisis when it comes to foster care.

Studies show that 1 out of every 3 kids who age-out (turn 18) will become homeless or incarcerated.

The combination of our educational workshops, art therapy classes, and mentoring help set them up for healthy independent living.
